The SMU Ambassadorial Corps (ASMU) was set up in August 2003 to offer exemplary SMU undergraduates the opportunity to hone their skills as external relations representatives of the university. These student Ambassadors engage external guests, such as foreign VIP delegates and prospective students, on their visits to SMU as well as at important school functions.
Besides hosting distinguished guests at SMU, the Ambassadors also work closely with the SMU administration in organising and managing university projects that reach out to the university's external stakeholders.
Recruitment for new Ambassadors involves a stringent interview process that takes place in the first half of each year. ASMU currently compises 45 Ambassadors - who are sophomore, junior and senior year students of various nationalities.
We are a diverse group of students that brings recognition to SMU with passion, pride and professionalism, through living, loving and sharing our SMU experiences.
We are a close-knit family characterised by friendship, candour, trust, and cooperation.
We are committed to all our stakeholders, working partners, and the Corps itself.
We treat all stakeholders alike and we constantly seek to improve ourselves.
We uphold integrity and honesty in everything we do.
We take pride in what we do, and endeavour to constantly deliver work of high quality.
We strive for excellence and are aware that today's excellence can be tomorrow's mediocrity.
